Congratulations to all of the artists who entered the flight-themed Challenge! Thank you for sharing your talents with us

Writing entries from this year’s Arts Challenge can be read by going to the Winners link on the top of this page.

The theme for the next Community Arts Challenge is BALANCE. Submissions are due by November 1, 2019. There are many meanings of balance, so have fun coming up with creative ideas.

The Prospectus and the Entry Form for the BALANCE Challenge has been updated. Please be sure to read the Prospectus before submitting your entries, as there are some changes in entry requirements.

The winner of the People’s Choice Award for the ninth annual Community Arts Challenge is George Seibel for his glass sculpture titled, “Returning Home.”

Close contenders for this award were Kathie Beale for “Raven Murder,” Jane O’Shea for “Flight to Freedom,” Deidre Plumley for “When Pigs Fly,” and Randy Ross for “Up and Away! Milkweed Birth Flight.”

Over 200 people cast votes for their favorite work in this year’s Arts Challenge exhibit at the Center for the Arts in Homer.

Many of the award-winning entries from the original exhibit can now be seen at the Cortland Free Library. The library exhibit will stay up until the end of March.
